HISTORY

David, Dixie and Dori Jennings moved to Starkville in 1978 when Dave joined the founding faculty members at the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU. It wasn't until 1992 when Dori and her husband moved into Conway Acres while attending Auburn University that they realized there was no safe and affordable housing alternative to apartments and condos in Starkville. Where would their daughter live if she were attending MSU? Dave and Dixie set out to develop an affordable manufactured housing community that would provide a safe, independent living style in pleasant, natural surroundings that their daughter would enjoy. JennLake Meadows opened in August 1995.

LOCATION

JennLake Meadows encompasses 110 acres located on the north side of Highway 182 east on the way to the MSU Golf Course. Traveling west on the 4-lane, you are only one-half mile from the new by-pass and two miles from the new main entrance to the MSU campus and the Research Park; going east offers easy access to Columbus, West Point, and the Golden Triangle Airport. As you enter the property, it is hard to decide whether to concentrate on the pastured horses, two stocked fishing lakes, or our resident ducks and geese.

ATMOSPHERE

The community atmosphere is one of family and friendly neighbors. Student residents are comprised mostly of professional and/or graduate students; young professionals and retirees also call it home. More than one resident has graduated and/or moved elsewhere, returned to Starkville, and moved back to JennLake Meadows. What better endorsement can you have for a place to live?

You need only to drive through JennLake Meadows to immediately dispel any preconceived notions or connotations about "trailer parks" and/or "trailer trash," and about manufactured homes as a housing option. We have an application process and credit background checks for residency. The covenants and on-site management ensure that JennLake Meadows remains a pleasant, well-maintained development. Yards must be maintained; no more than two adults, two pets, and two cars per home. All homes are set-up according to the manufacturer's specifications and are owned and lived-in by the residents.

Be sure and check with us before you decide on your housing.
